In Togo, children make up 47% of the population (compared to 18% in France), the life expectancy is 56 years (versus 85 years in France), the minimum wage is 55 euros, and a dictionary costs 35 euros.
That’s why the ABC Partage Association has existed for the past 10 years, with the following goals:
- Educational exchange between Togolese and French teachers during a four-week summer program
- Screening of a film, which serves as the inspiration for preparing a student performance
- Beach outings for the children
- A two-week training session for Togolese teachers
- Transport and delivery of school supplies and books collected throughout the year — shipped by truck to Rouen, then by boat to Togo — to be distributed to all students attending summer classes and participating teachers
All of these activities require both personal and financial commitment, and the ABC Partage Association warmly thanks the entire school community for its continued support and generous financial contribution through the light lunch initiative.
Once a year, we encourage a solidarity effort so that our pen pals in Togo can receive school supplies. This effort takes the form of a simple lunch (bread, cheese, and fruit) served at the regular school lunch price. The school can then make a substantial donation to the association.
A heartfelt thank you to the Principal, the School Board (OGEC), the Parent-Teacher Association (APEL), and above all, to all the families who take part.
We are enriched by what we share!
⸻ DONATIONS. The only financial support comes from fundraising efforts such as the rice bowl lunches at Collège Sainte Marthe and at Collège and Lycée Saint Joseph, as well as the light meals at Sacré Cœur, Saint Martin, and Saint Front schools. We take advantage of the summer holidays to travel to Togo for five weeks every year to carry out the association’s missions. All funds raised go directly to the association’s projects — volunteers personally cover the cost of their travel.

Geometry Supplies
Funding for the production of a geometry kit (ruler, set square, protractor, and compass) for the classroom in Lomé.
2023
Geography Maps
Funding for the production of 360 large-format maps (1.5m x 1m) printed on durable tarpaulin: 90 sets of 4 maps of Togo and Africa — covering 90% of schools.
2022
Desk-Benches
In 2022, the ABC Partage Association funded the production of 83 desk-benches specially designed for 6-year-old children, so they could learn in better conditions.
2021
Handwashing Stations
The donations collected allowed a Togolese craftsman to build handwashing stations — of higher quality than those provided by international organizations — which are still in use as of 2024.
